Renee Dessommes was born in Plano, TX and graduated from Plano East Senior High in 2002. She studied acting and directing at Collin College and Texas A&M University-Commerce. She found her love of stage management while getting her Masters of Science at Texas A&M University-Commerce. Renee then went to the University of Missouri, Kansas City and earned her Masters of Fine Arts in Stage Management. She lived in Kansas City for three years and worked at regional theatres like the Unicorn Theatre and Kansas City Repertory Theatre. She moved back to the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex in 2013 and has been working across the country since. Renee has worked regionally in D/FW at Casa Manana, Dallas Children's Theatre, Theatre Three, Circle Theatre and Uptown Players. In March of 2022, she was appointed the Dallas Regional Representative of the Stage Managers Association (SMA). She has served as the Corresponding Secretary from 2022-2024. In 2024 she was elected to be a Director at Large for the SMA. Renee is the District Discipline Lead and a Professor of Theatre at Collin College on the Plano Campus. She also serves as one of the Resident Stage Managers for Uptown Players in Dallas, TX.

Renee lives in Plano, TX with her 7 year old daughter Ellanora. Renee loves to paint, knit and have tea parties with her kiddo. When she is able to go out, she loves the movies and karaoke. She is a true nerd and can often be found reading or binge watching Harry Potter, Star Wars or the Twilight Saga. Renee often reads young adult literature and can't wait to introduce Ellanora to the world of imagination. Renee knows how to be goofy and focused at the same time. She is known to rock out to musicals & rock while scenic painting in the shop. Renee's goal is to live life to the fullest.
